Hazardous Attitude Inventory
Find out which of the five hazardous attitudes most influences your decision making, and learn the antidote for each.
How it works
- Read each situation. In every one, the pilot has already made a poor decision.
- Rank the five reasons given, from the one most likely to explain the decision to the one least likely. Tap them in order; your first tap scores 5 and the last scores 1.
- You may not consider any of the reasons acceptable. That's the point. Choose anyway, based on how you honestly think.
There are no correct answers. The inventory presents extreme cases of incorrect pilot decision making so you can see which attitudes pull at you hardest. Nothing you enter leaves this page.

The five hazardous attitudes and their antidotes
Listed from your highest score to your lowest. When you recognize a hazardous thought, label it, then correct it by stating the antidote. Memorize the antidotes so they come to mind automatically when needed.
What your profile means
The higher an attitude ranks, the greater your tendency to respond with it. Exhibiting attitudes like these is common and normal; hazardous attitudes occur to every pilot to some degree at some time. Problems arise when they occur regularly or to an extreme.
The goal is to recognize your own tendencies so you can counteract hazardous thoughts and balance them against possible outcomes before you act.
